Between this page and the last one, there was the Pisa
rendering workshop, which got put in its own
album.
This is the outside of one of about 1000 Catholic churches
we saw in Italy.

We were on our way to visit the famous leaning tower
-- actually one of three in Pisa. (The first was such
a hit, I guess the decided to undermine a couple of
their others.)

The tower steals some of the attention the nearby monuments
of the Piazza dei Miracoli.

I was told this building was much more impressive from
the outside than from the inside, which was good, since
it would have cost a few thousand lira to get in the
door.

Here is one of the better "angles" of the tower.

I just happened to catch two birds flying by during
this picture. Unfortunately, I also caught my finger
in the upper right.

This is just another random building we saw on our walk
through Pisa. Everything is so beautiful and classic
in Italy -- I can understand why so many people fall
in love with it.

This is the superior school in Pisa, both in terms of
age and level. Patrick explained that it is the more
highly respected upper educational institution, and
very difficult to get into and stay in.

The group of us sat to have a drink and take in the
evening near the river, which resembled a canal, as
it does in many European cities.

The look on Alan's face in this photo correlates to
the "preposterous" price of an alcoholic beverage at
this establishment. Those of us who had sodas (like
me) didn't really notice.
