This is definitely the time of year to visit. In the Springtime, the entire meadow is covered in snowpack and Tioga Pass is closed.

This is the famous "Soda Springs" that provides a healthful drink for the daring. It tastes a bit like Perrier, but without the fancy bottle.

Dog Lake
It was quite a bit of uphill to get to Dog Lake, but the views made it worth the trip for me.

The cool, shallow lake invited wading more than swimming, and the girls spent a good part of their time making rock towers, while Dave and I took separate wanders around either shore.
